The Leona
Group, L.L.C., was formed in 1996 in Michigan by William Coats, Ph.D.,
a national leader in public education reform. The Leona Group's mission is to promote choice and competition in public education for all students, including those with special needs, and to help them pursue their individual academic goals. The Leona Group began in Michigan and has grown in the Midwest from three managed schools to 30 schools serving more than 8,000 students. With its proven track record in Michigan, Leona expanded and opened a second, independent division in Arizona in 1997. With 17 secondary schools and more than 7,000 students, Leona Group owns and operates the largest public charter school system in that state. |
